Transferring Points
Once you gain your credit card bonus, the most important step to learn is how to transfer points. Transferring points is the key to gaining inexpensive flights and deals with your miles.
Today we are going to look at how to do this in the chase portal. The key to remember is that you are transferring points TO the hotel or airline, not buying with points within the travel portal. We want to transfer the points because 98% of the time they will go further when transferred, than they will when using the travel portal.
Step-by-Step
- First you are going to login to your chase account. You will see the number of rewards points you have available on the right hand side, like below. Click on it.
2. After clicking here you will be sent to the Chase Rewards Travel Portal. You will see this menu in the top Left corner. Click on the three lines.
3. This will pull up the menu below. You want to click on “Transfer to Travel Partners.” Do not click on Travel, you want to TRANSFER.
4. After clicking on “Transfer to Travel Partners,” you will see this screen with a long list of available transfer partners. If they have a transfer bonus available, it will be listed next to the travel partner.
5. Select your Travel Partner, and you will see the transfer timing and other details. Then click Transfer Points.
6. Finally, you will input your Rewards information. Make sure before you finalize your transfer, that you really want those points transferred, and you have the correct amount for the flights/room you have selected. You can not reverse this transfer.
7. Go Book that Vacay! We cannot wait to see where you go with points and miles. Sending these points to transfer partners will make them go much further for you so you can plan more trips.
